Course Details
Is your young rider ready to break into the black trails and elevate their mountain biking game? Our Advanced Youth Mountain Bike Program is designed for those who've mastered blue trails and are hungry for more. Over six weeks, they'll work closely with our PMBIA Level 2 & 3 certified coaches to develop the advanced skills needed for tackling challenging black trails.
We focus on the essential skills: from mastering technical terrain and finding the best lines to conquering steep descents and tricky features like raised ladder bridges. They'll also refine their brake control and learn specialized techniques like rear-wheel lifts, bunny hops, track stands, and small jumps. All of this is aimed at ensuring they can handle the most demanding terrains safely and with confidence.
This program is perfect for riders who are already comfortable on blue trails and are looking to push their limits. They'll not only refine their existing skills but also learn new techniques that are essential for black trails.
Our experienced coaches will provide real-time feedback and ensure a safe, progressive learning environment, setting them up to tackle any trail they set their wheels on.

Early Drop Off
Have to work or can't drop kids off at 3pm for their After School Program? Our coaches can meet your kid/s at RSS at 2:30pm or Rossland French School at 2:40pm and head up to the program ready for 3pm. Early Drop off can be booked for all 4 sessions, no single days available.
Details: 2:30pm pick up directly from RSS playground OR 2:40pm at Rossland French school playground. You can specifiy which one at check out.
Cost: $30 + gst (based on 3 kids signing up. If less sign up you will have the option to cancel with a refund or if you need the care, the price will increase to simply cover costs).

Shannon Martin
Originally from Western Australia, Shannon spent his teenage years on a BMX building jumps through nothing but trial and error (i.e a lot of crashes). After almost 15 years off the bike he finally rented a full suspension mountain bike at Kicking Horse in 2013 and fell back in love with 2 wheels. Living in Banff and Japan made serious mountain biking tough, but the last few years living in Rossland, along with an upgrade to a modern bike, have him craving for more speed and bigger air. Shannon is a professional photographer and videographer and also works Ski Patrol at RED in the winter. In the summer when not working you can probably find him digging at the Rossland dirtjumps (just like when he was a kid).
